X4TR Refrigerated Centrifuges

The Thermo Scientific™ X4TR Refrigerated Centrifuge is designed to pair enhanced sustainability with high-performance throughput and versatility. GreenCool™ technology uses a natural R290 refrigerant (GWP of 3, zero ozone depletion, EU/US EPA F-gas compliant) to deliver stable cooling down to a -20°C setpoint—lower than previous models—protecting temperature-sensitive sample integrity. The unit features an easy-to-use, full-color touchscreen user interface that simplifies operation for quick results, providing at-a-glance monitoring via an easily accessible menu bar and centrifuge health icon to track runs, rotor life, and centrifuge health.

Equipped with the secure, ergonomic push-button Auto-Lock™ rotor exchange system, users can switch between 18 available rotor options in as little as three seconds without tools, providing full chamber access for cleaning convenience, minimizing contamination risks, and ensuring maximum flexibility for evolving lab needs. Safety is enhanced by SMARTSpin™ Imbalance Detection, which protects hardware and optimizes separations by maximizing acceleration, braking, and residual load imbalance adjustments based on the specific rotor and bucket load. For precise run reproducibility, the unit also features the Accumulated Centrifugal Effect (ACE) integrator function.

Designed with a Green Mode compressor on/off feature and scheduling tools for pre-programmed start-up times, the system reduces energy costs and extends compressor life. The centrifuge features a space-saving design with compact dimensions and lid safety features that optimize the work area at an ergonomic height for easy sample loading, unloading, and cleaning. Manufactured in a certified zero-waste facility using 100% renewable electricity in Osterode am Harz, Germany, the X4TR is Class ISO 6 cleanroom compatible for benchtop models, compatible with Vaporized Hydrogen Peroxide decontamination, and supports general laboratory use, IVD certified, or FDA listed options.
