TLD Attends UNG's Foundation Gala

On the evening of October 7, 2022, The Lab Depot’s CEO John Seelke, and CFO Jere Allen, attended the University of North Georgia’s Foundation Gala. John’s wife Sarah, and Jere’s wife Lisa accompanied them for the occasion.
The UNG Foundation Gala is a yearly event hosted by the university to recognize those who made donations toward student support and scholarships through the foundation during the academic year. This year’s event paid particular attention to philanthropy and the school’s 150th anniversary.
In honor of the laboratory sciences and its role in supporting S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) initiatives, The Lab Depot proudly committed $25,000 this year to UNG’s new S.T.E.M. building fund. The College of Science & Mathematics is actively working toward creating a new hub for S.T.E.M. on the Dahlonega campus, adjacent to the Health and Natural Sciences Building. The new building will house most of the departments now in Rogers Hall and other locations around the campus. Dedicated to growing and encouraging research and student excellence across the spectrum of S.T.E.M. majors, CSM Dean Dr. John Leyba and Director of Development for the CSM Steve Shepherd continue to spread the word about this innovative building project.
TLD’s donation also coincides with the establishment of a new job shadowing partnership with the College of Science & Mathematics (CSM). The BLADE program offers CSM students an opportunity to realize the value of their degree, from a business perspective. Instead of approaching science through the laboratory alone, BLADE allows students to learn how the laboratory supply industry works in an e-commerce setting.
The Lab Depot proudly continues its support of community involvement and higher education partnerships. A special thanks to the UNG Foundation for the Gala invitation and for allowing The Lab Depot to support UNG students in receiving the best education possible in the north Georgia region and well beyond.
