Celebrating International Day of Women and Girls in Science

We are pleased to announce that The Lab Depot will be celebrating the International Day of Women and Girls in Science for the month of February. This UN National Holiday is on February 11th, and it allows us to recognize the role women and girls play in science and STEM. We consider this to be a very important day, as it gives us an opportunity to celebrate your innovative spirit and the creativity female/women scientists bring to the table each and every day.
Instead of a one-day celebration, The Lab Depot has decided to celebrate this day all month long. There are some exciting things happening, so make sure you keep an eye on our website, social media channels, and your email inbox. As women in science, first and foremost, we want to recognize that we see you, we believe in you, and your presence matters. Second, we want to ask that you join us in this celebration. If you’re a woman in science, share your story. Use this as an opportunity to let your presence be known and let the world know that you’re an incredible asset to your field. Or, maybe you work with a woman in science. Take the time to thank her this month. Let her know that you appreciate her and that she is valued in her position.
As for TLD, we are going to be speaking with some of the women we interact with daily in our business, but also women who have worked with us and gone on to have careers in STEM. We will be highlighting them individually throughout the month and will share pieces of our conversations with them.
It’s going to be a special month, highlighting several prodigious female scientists who were excited to share their stories with us. While we can’t speak to all of you individually, please know that The Lab Depot is proud of you and is cheering you on. We have immense respect for your knowledge and talent in discovering, innovating, and validating on a daily basis.
Here’s to making more room for you, women in science. We can’t wait to see what the future holds.
