Yeast & Mold Agar Dehydrated Culture Media

The medium’s core strength is its flexibility in enhancing selectivity. It is specifically formulated for the selective isolation of yeasts from mixed cultures. Selectivity can be enhanced either through acidification (by adding sterile acid after sterilization and cooling) to inhibit bacteria, or through the aseptic addition of selective agents/antibiotics to eliminate unwanted bacteria or molds. This makes YM Agar an indispensable tool for quality control in the food and beverage industry, including the detection of wild yeasts in beer.

Please note: YM Agar should be sterilized without pH adjustment. Acidified YM Agar should not be heated. This product is not intended for use in the diagnosis of disease or other conditions in humans.
