Yersinia Selective Agar Dehydrated Culture Media

The medium’s core strength is its unique visual differentiation system. Yersinia enterocolitica ferments mannitol with intense, localized acid production, which is revealed by the Phenol Red indicator (inferred), producing the characteristic red "bull’s eye" colony surrounded by a transparent border. Selectivity is achieved through a potent combination of sodium desoxycholate, crystal violet, Irgasan®, cefsulodin, and novobiocin (the last two requiring a supplement), ensuring that unwanted background flora are suppressed and recovery of the target pathogen is improved.

Please note: This product is an agar base and requires the addition of selective supplements (cefsulodin and novobiocin) for a complete medium. It is not intended for use in the diagnosis of disease or other conditions in humans.
