Pseudomonas Isolation Agar Dehydrated Culture Media
Manufacturer: Neogen Inc.
Description
The medium's key selective agent is Irgasan®, a broad-spectrum antimicrobial that effectively inhibits the growth of a wide range of bacteria while allowing Pseudomonas species to flourish. The agar's differentiation mechanism is based on the enhanced production of a blue-green pigment called pyocyanin by Pseudomonas aeruginosa. This pigment diffuses into the medium, providing a clear visual indicator for presumptive identification. The medium is based on a scientifically validated formula and is an indispensable tool for reliable Pseudomonas isolation.
Please note: This product requires the addition of glycerol during preparation. It is not intended for use in the diagnosis of disease or other conditions in humans.
