MacConkey Agar without Crystal Violet and Salt Dehydrated Culture Media
Manufacturer: Neogen Inc.
Description
The medium's dual modifications provide a new level of versatility. The absence of Crystal Violet allows for the growth of a broader range of organisms, including Gram-positive bacteria such as Staphylococcus and Enterococcus, which are typically inhibited on standard MacConkey Agar. It still retains its primary differential functionality, using lactose and Neutral Red to distinguish between fermenters and non-fermenters based on colony color. This powerful combination of features provides a reliable and clean method for isolating Gram-negative enteric bacilli from a variety of sources.
Please note: This product is not intended for use in the diagnosis of disease or other conditions in humans.
