Lowenstein-Jensen Medium Dehydrated Culture Media
Manufacturer: Neogen Inc.
Description
The medium's unique formula, a modification of Lowenstein Medium, provides a powerful dual-action system. The Malachite Green acts as a selective agent, inhibiting the growth of most other bacteria while allowing Mycobacterium to flourish. Furthermore, the egg-based formulation makes it an ideal medium for niacin testing, a key method for differentiating mycobacteria. As a base, Lowenstein-Jensen Medium requires the aseptic addition of fresh egg and glycerol for a complete and effective medium.
Please note: This product is not intended for use in the diagnosis of disease or other conditions in humans.
