Handheld Refractive Index Analog Refractometers

The refractometer’s simple operation consists of placing a few drops of your sample on the prism, looking through the cushioned-rubber eyepiece, and reading the results from the large, sharp scale display. Its robust design, with an all-metal prism housing, allows the sample to reach temperature equilibrium quickly. This model is engineered for high accuracy (±0.001 nD) and is easy to calibrate with a built-in "Zero-Ring." Each refractometer comes as a complete kit, including a zippered vinyl carrying case, a plastic transfer pipet, and a one-year warranty.

Operation consists of placing 1 or 2 drops of sample on the prism, closing the daylight plate over the sample, then looking through the focusable, cushioned-rubber eyepiece for the readings.

Easy to calibrate, simply place a few drops of distilled water or liquid standard (R.I. oil or prepared sucrose solution) on the prism, turn the built-in "Zero-Ring" until the shadowline is at the correct value of the liquid, and secure the ring.
