Consistometers

United Scientific Consistometer is designed to measure the consistency and flow rate of viscous substances by tracking how far a sample travels over a set time interval. It’s a practical quality control tool for evaluating products such as sauces, jams, jellies, dressings, paints, chemicals, gels, and other semi-solid or flowable materials.

The polished stainless steel construction provides durability, corrosion resistance, and easy cleaning for routine laboratory or production use. A spring-loaded gate holds approximately 75 mL of sample and releases instantly for controlled testing, while 0.5 cm engraved increments make flow distance easy to read.

Two leveling screws and an included spirit level help ensure the instrument is properly positioned before testing, supporting more consistent experimental conditions and repeatable results. Its compact footprint also makes it easy to store, move, and use on a stable benchtop.
