Operational & Maintenance Insights:
- Power Requirements: Due to the high wattage (up to 12.4 kW), these units require a dedicated circuit. Ensure your facility's wiring and circuit breakers are rated for the specific amperage.
- Water Quality: To prevent mineral buildup on the heating elements and internal baffle, always use distilled or deionized water. Tap water can lead to "scaling," which reduces heating efficiency and may trigger the low-water cut-off prematurely.
- Steam Baffle: Ensure the flat perforated steam baffle is correctly positioned before starting a cycle. This ensures even steam distribution and prevents "cold spots" in the chamber.
- Door Seal: Regularly inspect the door gasket for cracks or debris. A clean seal is essential for reaching and maintaining the 30 lb. steam pressure required for a successful cycle.
