Chloroform, Laboratory Grade
Manufacturer: Spectrum Chemical Manufacturing
Description
Choose the highest quality solutions and chemicals from Spectrum Chemical. Shop Chloroform, or trichloromethane, is a colorless, sweet smelling organic compound comes in the form of a dense liquid. Historically used as an anesthetic, today it is most widely used in the production of chlorodifluoromethane. It is also commonly used as laboratory solvent as it is relatively unreactive and conveniently volatile as well as being miscible with most organic compounds. Although its use as a synthetic reagent is limited, it is used in organic synthesis to produce dichlorocarbene by reacting with sodium hydroxide.
