Without a deflector head, materials in larger beakers often just spin in a horizontal vortex or remain stagnant at the bottom. The unique tapered-wall design of the deflector head forces material from the generator tip upward, creating a powerful vertical circulation pattern. This ensures that heavy or viscous materials—such as creams, lotions, and thick slurries—are repeatedly recycled through the generator until a perfectly homogeneous mixture is achieved.

Deflector heads are sized to match the diameter of your existing PRO generator probe. When ordering, please specify your preferred material: Acetyl Resin (economical/chemical resistant) or Stainless Steel (durable/autoclavable).

Homogenizing Hints:
- Ramping Speed: To prevent splashing and air entrainment when using a deflector head, always begin homogenizing at a low RPM, and then gradually increase the speed to your target level as the circulation pattern establishes.
- Viscosity Tip: If your sample is so thick that it forms a "hole" around the probe (cavitation), the deflector head is the essential tool to pull the surrounding material back into the blades.
- Maintenance: Periodically check the mounting hardware to ensure the head remains securely fastened during high-vibration, high-speed runs.
