Acetonitrile, Reagent, ACS is a colorless liquid with low viscosity and low chemical reactivity and is used in chemical labs as a polar aprotic solvent in organic synthesis. Acetonitrile is a medium-polarity solvent with a convenient liquid range that is miscible with water. As an ACS grade Reagent, Spectrum Chemical manufactured acetonitrile is used as the quality standard against which other substances are graded and has met the toughest regulatory standards for quality and purity.
