Description
Acetic Anhydride, Reagent, ACS, or ethanoic anhydride as it is otherwise known is a colorless, strong-smelling liquid chemical compound that is the simplest isolatable acid anhydride and commonly used as a reagent for organic synthesis. Mainly used for acetylations, its main use is for the conversion of cellulose to cellulose acetate and in the synthesis of aspirin. As an ACS-grade Reagent, Spectrum Chemical manufactured acetic anhydride is used as the quality standard against which other substances are graded and has met the toughest regulatory standards for quality and pureness.
