What sets the ICO apart is its active humidity control, which minimizes vaporization and prevents dangerous condensation by heating the chamber from all six sides, including the inner glass door. This creates a turbulence-free, stable atmosphere. For laboratories requiring hypoxic conditions, the ICO also offers an optional oxygen control system (1% to 20% O2) via nitrogen introduction.

Key Technical Benefits:
- Superior Hygiene: The electropolished, seamlessly welded stainless steel chamber with rounded corners makes cleaning effortless. The 180°C sterilization program treats the entire interior, including all sensors, in just 60 minutes.
- Safety & Communication: Beyond visual and acoustic alarms, the ICO can send alarm notifications directly to your mobile phone. An integrated data logger stores up to ten years of data, accessible via USB or Ethernet.
- Gas Management: Standard models include two gas connections with quick-release connectors for automatic switch-over between CO2 gas cylinders, preventing interruptions in the atmosphere.
- Stackable & Accessible: Maintenance is possible even when units are stacked. The shutter box provides fast access to controls, and parameters can be set via the unit or remotely via AtmoCONTROL software.
Laboratory Maintenance & Safety:
- Sterilization Tip: To maintain a truly aseptic environment, run the 180°C sterilization routine between different cell line series. Unlike chemical disinfection, this heat-based method reaches every crevice and sensor without leaving residue.
- Condensation Prevention: The heated inner glass door is critical. If you notice any fogging, check that the door gasket is clean and that the active humidity control (if equipped) is calibrated correctly.
- Gas Levels: Always use high-purity CO2 (99.9% or better) to prevent sensor drift and ensure the health of your cultures.
