Shimadzu’s story began in Japan in 1875 when it started producing educational instruments for physics and chemistry. Since then, the company has grown into a global name, with its headquarters, factories, and research facilities still proudly based in Japan. Shimadzu expanded to the U.S. in 1975 with the launch of Shimadzu Scientific Instruments Inc., followed by Shimadzu Precision Instruments Inc. in 1979. By 1983, it began manufacturing analytical instruments in the U.S.
Beyond the lab, the company manufactures a wide range of products, including medical systems, marine devices, and aircraft equipment. However, in the scientific world, Shimadzu is best known for its analytical and measuring instruments that support critical work in gas and liquid chromatography, material testing, elemental analysis, thermal analysis, and other fields. Its catalog includes analytical balances, semi-micro balances, and moisture analyzers.
We offer a selection of Shimadzu instruments designed to meet the demands of modern laboratories. Explore their products here at The Lab Depot.
