Standard Methods Agar Tubes
Manufacturer: Hardy Diagnostics
Description
Available in two tube sizes (20 mm x 125 mm and 20 mm x 150 mm) with fill volumes of 18 mL and 20 mL, these optically clear glass tubes provide excellent visibility for colony observation while offering the chemical resistance and thermal stability advantages of glass construction. The standard formulation provides optimal nutrient composition for supporting growth of a wide variety of bacteria for accurate total plate count determinations, while the chloramphenicol-supplemented version provides selective isolation and enumeration of yeast and mold by inhibiting bacterial growth. The tube format offers space-efficient storage, convenient handling for individual sample cultivation, and simplified organism maintenance compared to plates, making it ideal for culture preservation, subculturing, and reference collection applications. This product is intended for laboratory testing applications and is not designed for the diagnosis of human disease.
