KF-Streptococcus Broth Liquid Media Ampoules
Manufacturer: GVS
Description
The medium's selective power comes from sodium azide, which inhibits the growth of Gram-negative organisms while allowing Gram-positive fecal streptococci to thrive. For a clear and unmistakable positive result, the broth contains TTC (2, 3, 5-triphenyltetrazolium chloride). As enterococci metabolize, they reduce the TTC to insoluble formazan, resulting in pink to red colonies. The medium also contains both maltose and lactose as fermentable carbohydrates and Bromcresol purple as an indicator dye. Rigorous quality control checks guarantee a stable and high-performing medium for your water and food analysis.
