Features:
- The indicator dyes are covalently bound to the test pads and do not bleed into the sample. This allows the strips to be left in the solution indefinitely without contaminating it—ideal for weakly buffered solutions
- The 3.4-inch (85 mm) handle is hydrophobic and long enough to keep fingers safely away from hazardous, aggressive, or biohazardous samples
- Each box features a high-fidelity color chart that exactly matches the position and color of the pads on the strips, providing distinct results in seconds
- Specific ranges (e.g., pH 4.5–10.0 and 3.6–6.1) are CE-certified for professional medical applications, such as confirming nasogastric tube placement via gastric juice or monitoring vaginal pH
- The "Smart Corner" flat box design prevents strips from jamming, while the "PlopTop" tube stands firmly on surfaces and can be opened/closed with one hand
Application & Documentation:
- Digital Documentation: For laboratories requiring objective, quantitative data, pH-Fix strips can be evaluated using the QUANTOFIX® Relax strip reader. This system prints and stores results, including time-stamping and sample IDs
- Standard Procedure: Dip the strip into the liquid for ~1 second, shake off excess droplets, and compare to the color scale immediately (within 30 seconds)
- Weakly Buffered Samples: If the sample is weakly buffered, leave the strip in the solution for a longer period until the color stops changing to ensure an accurate reading
- Storage: Keep strips in their original container in a cool, dry place (4–30°C) away from sunlight to ensure a long shelf life
