Cannabis Cultivation
Everything starts with quality propagation. In the cannabis industry, most growers use greenhouses or indoor growing environments of some kind. Deciding on what kind of structure a grower uses depends largely on the size of the crops, labor requirements, budget, business scale, and business growth goals. Consideration should also be given to zoning and licensing regulations with regard to land use. Many different materials can be used to create a growing structure, covering a wide range of budget requirements. For example, a polyethylene hoop house with roll-up sides will be much less expensive than a large glass or polycarbonate facility using sophisticated environmental controls. Manufacturers specific to the cannabis industry are now advertising modular growth rooms as a solution for creating a controllable environment in a bigger space. Deciding on how controlled you want your growth environment to help in making these kinds of decisions.
Cannabis Cultivation
Growing a great marijuana plant depends on several environmental factors such as temperature, soil, fertilizers, water requirements, sunlight and relative humidity. Because many plants are now grown indoors in controlled environments, elements like sun and humidity are substituted with grow lights, irrigation systems and humidifiers. In addition, basic components like rolling benches, plastic growth trays and trellises create a framework to support plants as they begin to grow to maturity. Several stages of growth occur before the final stage allowing for harvest. Each stage requires its own unique demands of light, water and nutrients. It may take anywhere from four to eight months for a plant to become harvest-ready. When ready, growers must decide on a collection technique, wet or dry trimming and bring all the necessary tools. Based on the eventual end product, these tools may include automated trimming machines, netting/tarps, scissors, pruners, rubbing alcohol, rags, a tray or bowl, non-powdered latex gloves and appropriate clothing.
