EDTA Reagent, 5% w/v, Nitrogen (Ammonia & Organic)
Manufacturer: LabChem Inc.
Description
Features:
- Interference Mitigation: Specifically prevents the formation of Calcium and Magnesium precipitates in hard water samples that otherwise cause "spikes" or turbidity in absorption spectra.
- EPA & APHA Standardized: Formulated to meet the precise requirements of regulatory water testing methods (e.g., APHA 4500-NH₃), ensuring audit-ready compliance.
- Ready-to-Use Accuracy: Eliminates the difficult task of dissolving EDTA powder into an alkaline matrix in-house, ensuring consistent molarity and performance.
- Versatile Application: Used across multiple nitrogen analysis techniques, including automated phenate, Nesslerization, and ammonia-selective electrode methods.
Safety & Handling
CAUTION! Alkaline Solution: This reagent contains Sodium Hydroxide and is alkaline. It may cause skin and eye irritation.
- Personal Protection: Wear standard lab PPE, including nitrile gloves, safety goggles, and a lab coat.
- Storage: Store at room temperature in the original poly bottle. Shelf life is typically 24 months.
- Disposal: Dispose of according to local environmental regulations for laboratory waste. Once used in samples containing mercury (Nessler reagent), the waste must be handled as hazardous mercury waste.
