Features:

• TFE/Silicone Performance: The 5450-08 model combines the chemical inertness of TFE (Teflon™) with the excellent resealability of silicone. This is the preferred choice for injections involving volatile solvents and multiple needle penetrations.
• Superior Resealing: Silicone-lined options (540030-08) provide the best protection against evaporation after the initial injection, maintaining sample concentration for subsequent runs.
• Solid Core Security: The "No Starburst" standard polyethylene plug (5400-08) offers a more robust physical barrier than scored plugs, making it ideal for long-term storage or samples where needle penetration force is not a primary concern.
• Friction-Fit Design: Engineered to stay seated during the mechanical movement of autosampler carousels, preventing sample loss and mechanical jams.

Selection Guide:

• Chemical Compatibility: Use TFE-lined plugs for samples containing harsh organic solvents like Acetonitrile or Hexane to prevent the polyethylene from interacting with the sample.
• Needle Gauge: Lined plugs (TFE/Silicone) are highly flexible; however, ensure your autosampler needle is sharp and of an appropriate gauge (typically 22 or 25 gauge) to cleanly pierce the septa without coring.
• Storage: These plugs are designed for a tight seal. For samples stored at low temperatures, ensure the plugs are fully seated before placing them in the refrigerator/freezer.
