Branson Ultrasonic Cleaning Solutions, distributed by VWR International, are engineered to maximize the cavitation power of your ultrasonic cleaner. These specialized formulations lower the surface tension of the cleaning liquid, allowing for the rapid formation and collapse of microscopic bubbles that "scrub" surfaces clean, even in hard-to-reach crevices and blind holes. These aqueous, biodegradable concentrates are designed to be diluted with water, making them a cost-effective and environmentally responsible choice for high-traffic laboratories and industrial facilities. Whether you are prepping surgical instruments or removing heavy machining residue, Branson solutions provide the chemical action needed to complement ultrasonic mechanical energy.
For use with ultrasonic cleaners. The general-purpose cleaning solution removes general soil, fingerprints, dust, tissue, and light oils. The oxide remover solution removes rust and metal oxides. The industrial-strength solution removes oil, metal chips, grease, and carbon. All cleaning solutions dilute with water. Biodegradable.
Key Functional Benefits:
Application Specific: Formulated to address specific soils, ensuring you don't waste energy or time on ineffective cleaning cycles
Biodegradable Safety: Aqueous-based solutions that are easier to dispose of than solvent-based alternatives, reducing the lab's environmental footprint
Concentrated Value: High dilution ratios mean a single 1-quart bottle produces several gallons of active cleaning solution
Cavitation Enhanced: Specifically balanced to support stable cavitation, preventing the "degassing" delays common with standard household detergents
Laboratory Protocol Insights:
Material Compatibility: These solutions are highly effective but cannot be used with aluminum products. The chemical alkaline/acidic balance may etch or darken aluminum surfaces
Temperature Optimization: Ultrasonic cleaning is most effective when the solution is heated. Check your ultrasonic cleaner's manual, but most Branson solutions perform best between 50°C and 60°C.
Degassing: After filling your cleaner with a fresh mix of water and solution, run the unit for 5–10 minutes without parts. This removes trapped air (degassing), which otherwise cushions the ultrasonic waves and reduces cleaning power.
