Bismuth Sulfite Agar Dehydrated Culture Media
Manufacturer: Neogen Inc.
Description
The medium's powerful inhibitory action against Gram-positive bacteria and coliforms allows for the use of a large inoculum, which significantly increases the possibility of recovering pathogens that may be present in small numbers. This is crucial for food safety testing. The presence of Bismuth Sulphite Indicator and Ferrous Sulfate facilitates a clear differentiation: Salmonella colonies grow luxuriantly and form characteristic black colonies, making for easy presumptive identification. This powerful selectivity and clear visual result provide a new level of confidence in your testing.
Please note: Freshly prepared Bismuth Sulphite Agar is highly selective. It is not recommended to store the prepared medium at 4°C for longer than 2 days to maintain optimal performance. This product is not intended for use in the diagnosis of disease or other conditions in humans.
