Introducing The BLADE Program

August 24, 2022

The Lab Depot is proud to be a partner in education with the University of North Georgia’s College of Science & Mathematics. The Lab Depot has worked with UNG students for years in different capacities and recently the partnership has expanded to include a brand new offering for students in the College of Science & Mathematics.

Blade Program Associates

Education to Industry

The university’s first program of its kind, BLADE (Business Leadership and Apprenticeship Development Experience) will provide a unique immersion experience with practical application for CSM juniors and seniors beginning in September 2022.

The program’s focus has been designed to offer CSM students experience in a laboratory equipment and supply distribution business. Students will receive practical information regarding basic business practices for laboratory product sourcing in an e-commerce environment, transferrable to any industry. Specific focus will be given to observing and analyzing data points in critical areas of the business.

BLADE aims to support students in transitioning to the workforce after college graduation, a potentially uncertain time for new graduates. In addition to the new job shadowing program, The Lab Depot is proudly committing to a $25,000 financial gift in support of the new STEM building initiative through University Advancement.

A Special Thanks

BLADE will launch in the fall of 2022, after months of study and planning by UNG and The Lab Depot team members. Special thanks go to UNG CSM Director of Development Steve Shepherd, UNG CSM Dean Dr. John Leyba, The Lab Depot’s CEO John Seelke, CFO Jere Allen, and Communications and Content Officer Susan Csomor, for their collaboration in serving the students of UNG’s CSM.
